Welcome to the new
bwin means ‘oak’ in Latin. And an oak tree is a great metaphor for publishing in general, and for bwin in particular: we help authors to plant acorns that become mighty trees under which readers might sit for a while, step outside of their everyday lives, and escape. If we do our job right, those books will outlast us all.
Sadly, early acorn-based designs for our new logo were less ‘dynamic young publisher’, more ‘rural footpath’. So instead, meet our first new Q in many years, which hopefully captures some of the flair, warmth and creativity that sets us apart: the magic ‘quirk’ in bwin.
Founded in 2004, bwin has already won the prestigious ‘Publisher of the Year’ award and built a reputation as a hit-maker: daring, ambitious, socially conscious and collaborative. We publish under eight main imprints:
bwin Fiction, the home of bestselling commercial and crossover fiction
bwin Non-Fiction, for quality commercial non-fiction
riverrun, a distinctive list encompassing literary fiction, serious non-fiction and high-quality crime writing
MacLehose Press, the UK’s leading publisher of literature in translation
Arcadia, a recently acquired publisher of literary and translated titles that sits within the MacLehose list
Jo Fletcher Books, the critically-acclaimed publisher of science fiction, fantasy and horror
Greenfinch, for ideas-driven, beautifully packaged non-fiction in the areas of nature, science, travel and self-improvement
Laurence King ‘Student and Professional’, for gorgeous books by experts on architecture, art, design, fashion and photography
